PARTNER FILE / #007 · KANTO
Squirtle starts with Water Gun and has closely matched physical and special attack factors. Its single Water type gives damaging Water cards a 20% own-type bonus.

Physical and special attacks use different attack factors. Defense and special defense affect the matching incoming damage category; they are not flat percentages of damage blocked. Speed is the game’s base movement value.

A piercing jet. Reliable at any range.
The 400-coin Starting move upgrade is bought separately for each partner. It lets you choose a legal non-buff opening; the default remains available. Learning another attack during a run does not automatically change the active slot.
As a single-type Water partner, Squirtle gets ×1.20 damage on damaging Water moves. Normal alternatives and buffs do not inherit that bonus.
Move evolutions below upgrade an attack. They do not mean this partner changes into another Pokémon. For upgrade rules and slot choices, read the move evolution guide.
We would shortlist Squirtle for learning range with later slow and personal regeneration options. Its attack factors are nearly even; the Water card behaviors are the main attraction.
Aqua Ring takes active time before it is bonded, and it does not heal teammates. Do not stop dealing damage just because a sustain card appeared.

These are priorities and alternatives, not three attacks you receive or fire together. The selected slot keeps casting; existing projectiles, placed fields and temporary buffs can remain after switching. Bonds let several moves keep casting from one selected group.
A buff cast adds a stack rather than instantly granting the maximum bonus. Refresh it, return to damage before it expires, or combine it with damage in a Bond. It affects your player, not the whole team. Do not pass up a useful damage upgrade just to complete this list.
Build the default projectile. Power covers its Scald evolution requirement.
ScaldLv. 5 Water Gun + Power
A slowing spread is worth trying when approaching enemies, rather than one nearest target, are the immediate problem.
SurfLv. 5 Bubble + Sprint
Use it after damage is stable. Before Bonds, refresh deliberately and return to the attack rather than expecting both to run.
If the cards do not cooperate: If regeneration is late, keep the main attack levelled and take available survival upgrades. Do not base the whole run on a card that has not appeared.
We would use Squirtle at range, adding control when needed. Each teammate still needs a personal answer to incoming damage; Aqua Ring belongs to Squirtle.
Charmander supplies another ranged type. Avoid both players changing to buff-only slots at the same time.
Bulbasaur can cover close pressure while Squirtle uses a projectile or slowing route.
Kanto pairings to try, not an all-roster co-op ranking or a tested best team. Each player manages their own active slot and buffs. A partner knowing a move does not mean it keeps casting throughout the run.
Learning Bubble does not activate it automatically. Select it before expecting the slow spread.
Regeneration helps recover; it does not make repeated contact a good trade.
Damaging Water attacks get the bonus. Normal attacks and Aqua Ring do not.
These are the cards this partner can learn, including its default attack. They are choices, not a loadout you receive at once. An evolution requires the base move at its maximum level and the listed stat card; attack names alone do not imply extra effects such as healing.
